Luckily for you and me, there are now computers, printers and this free downloadable monthly meal planner to make our menu planning much easier. She used those monthly meal plans for years and years. Eventually she created several monthly meal planner templates that she committed to in pen. My mom used a pencil, a spiral notebook and a ruler to make her own calendar. This was back before computers and apps and a printable meal planner. I thought everyone meal planned like that. Another way to organize your calendar is to use a clipboard, and hang it on a bulletin board, or on the wall of your command center. I make my grocery list in the kitchen, so I keep a menu planner stuck on the refrigerator with a magnet. I also print the weekly menu planners, but I don’t keep those in my binder.

It’s helpful to print the weekly and daily planners ahead so they are right there, ready to use. I print four weekly planners (on regular copy paper) for each month. Five years ago, I organized myself with a binder and monthly tab dividers…and I still love it! That binder has become the key to keeping my life straight. I recommend printing the cover, year-at-a-glance, and monthly calendars on good quality card stock. This calendar prints beautifully on 8.5 x 11 card stock or paper.
